The EPT Copenhagen Tournament of the European Poker Tour
The EPT Copenhagen is a qualifying tournament of the european poker Tour for its much anticipated EPT Grand Final at the end of each season. Players compete in some of the best poker contests available today to have a shot at the international renown this tournament can provide. In recent years, this poker tournament has been considered prestigious and very exciting.
The EPT Copenhagen is held annually at the very beautiful Casino Copenhagen in Denmark. This poker tournament follows the same rules, regulations and format as the other European Poker Tour events. The only tournament that does not follow the same set-up is the EPT Grand Final which will commence at the end of every season in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
During the first season of the tour, it was Noah Boeken of the Netherlands who won this very exciting tournament. In the end of the final round, he was able to defeat Ram Vaswani of England for the grand pot amounting to 1,098,340 Danish Kroner. The other excellent international players who were beaten at the final table are Alexander Cooper and Erik Kolaas of Norway, Dan Pedersen of Denmark, Michael Westerlund of Sweden, Julian Thew of England, and Charalambos Xanthos of Cyprus.
Meanwhile, the second season saw a different story as Mads Andersen of Denmark defeated Edgar Skjervold of Norway in the final round. Andersen won the grand pot amounting to 2,548,070 Danish Kroner. To complete the cast of the final table are Johan Bergqvist of Sweden, Shek Chi Hung and Anina Gundesen of Denmark, Markus Gonsalves of the U.S., Marc Naalden of the Netherlands, and Philip Hilm also of Denmark.
During the third season, an interesting story happened as Magnus Petersson of Sweden defeated Bertrand Grospellier of France in the final round of the EPT Copenhagen. As always, the flow of poker action was fast and non-stop as the players try to outsmart and outplay one another to reach the final table. To complete the table are Anders Wijk and Samir Shakhtoor of Sweden, Thomas Holm and Theo Jorgensen of Denmark, Alexandre Poulain of France, and Richard Toth of Hungary. In the end, Petersson had a total winnings amounting to a whopping 4,078,080 Danish Kroner.
All of these events are very exciting from start to finish. More is expected from the EPT Copenhagen poker tournament because of what has been built from its successful past. More and more players from Europe and from all over the world are trying to get into the competition. This tournament would surely deliver world class poker competition for years to come.
