The Barcelona Open Tournament of the European Poker Tour
The european poker Tour, just like the World Series of Poker and the World Poker Tour, is also a prestigious event that has been known in recent years for showcasing some of the best poker tournaments. The only main difference is that this event focuses more on the European region. Although these events are open as well to players from other parts of the world, it has given European poker players an excellent opportunity to shine and be recognized worldwide.
One of the main tournaments of the European Poker Tour is the Barcelona Open. This is an annual event that is held at the very beautiful Casino Barcelona in Spain. This poker tournament has always been the jump off point of the tour in each of its past seasons. Numerous players have already attempted to win this tournament in the hope of winning a direct seat to the EPT Grand Final.
During the first season of the tour, it was Alexander Stevic of Sweden who dominated the final table of the Barcelona Open. In the process, he was able to defeat David O'Callaghan of Ireland in the final round to take home the grand pot amounting to 80,000 Euros. The other poker players who were able to reach the final table include Andreas Pournaras of Greece, John Kabbaj and Garry Bush of England, Stefan Rapp of Austria, Adam Robak of Poland and Luca Pagano of Italy.

In the final round Boubli's superior poker hand helped him edge out Johansson for the pot which is valued at 416,000 Euros.
The third season of the European Poker Tour saw Bjorn-Erik Glenne of Norway beat the lights out of his fellow international players at the final table of the Barcelona tournament. Among those who defeated are Robin Keston and David Gregory of the United Kingdom, Jon Dull and David Daneshgar of the U.S., Jeff Lisandro of Italy, Joakim Geigert of Sweden, and runner up Phil Ivey of the U.S. The event was indeed very exciting all throughout but it was Glenne who took home the grand pot in the end. The pot was valued at 691,000 Euros.
